"I don't regret the things I've done. I regret the things I didn't do when I had the chance.”
Good Morning Drivelites! You have waited all year for it and today has come. Yep it is International Anti-Corruption Day. International Anti-corruption Day was launched in 2003 by the General Assembly of the United Nations as a way of raising awareness of corruption and highlighting the role of the United Nations Convention against Corruption in combating and preventing it. What do you think? Has your corruption awareness been raised? I thought not.
Some of you know and have met Sven. A good guy by all accounts. He has asked my daughter Jenny's, the elder, hand in marriage this weekend. Now just how great is that? I was surprised that she said yes. I mean, after all, how is she to make a living with only one hand? For that matter what would Sven do with just the hand? Weird! Hold on for a sec........ Oops! I just got a tweet. Seems as though this hand thing is just a way of saying that he would like to marry her. My bad. They were made for each other and have a ton of common interests. Let's all stand and give them a round of applause. A very nice couple.
Coincidentally, I have committed to a new exercise regime in order to somehow get by to some of my previous condition. Exercising would be so much more rewarding if calories screamed while you burned them. I have a sneaking suspicion that I will be given some guidelines before long.
Have you ever just dropped in for a reading from a psychic? I wouldn't think you would have to have an appointment after all as they would know you were coming. Right?
Murphy, our Boston Terrier, is a whole 10 weeks old already. He seems to be pretty smart. He is already getting the hang of the “Going Potty Where I Want You To Go and When I Want You To Go” training. We have just one little item to teach him. He goes to the door, sits and waits for one of us to let him out. Should no one show up in a respectable amount of time, well you know, he goes wherever he sees fit. A few have wondered if this animal actually exists so I am posting a picture of him. Many of you know that Barney, the pug, helps with the blog occasionally. You also know that I do a fair amount of pondering. Murphy didn't want to replace Barney so he is learning to ponder. After all two pondering heads are better than one. In the photo, Murphy is seen posing for the camera. He is a bit of a camera hog.
Last week I confessed to being a ponderer, a wanderer and a dreamer. Like Dion, I'm a Wanderer. Roaming from town to town...... What makes one a wanderer, ponderer and a dreamer? I took a look at my horoscope this weekend. There may be a clue here. You see I was born in the Aquarius sign. Here is what it says about us. Individuals born under the sign of Aquarius are often quirky and unconventional. Sometimes their eccentricities are obvious -- they may have an unusual sense of humor, or have interests that others do not. Other times, Aquarians will have very small, quirky and sometimes amusing eccentricities which only become apparent as one gets to know them. If you are an Aquarian here are ten ways to maintain a healthy level of insanity.
1. At lunch time, sit in your parked car with sunglasses on and point a hair dryer at passing cars. See if they slow down.
2. Page yourself over the intercom. Don't disguise your voice.
3. Every time someone asks you to do something, ask if they want fries with that.
4. Put your garbage can on your desk and label it “In”.
5. Put Decaf in the coffee maker for 3 weeks. Once everyone has gotten over their caffeine addictions, switch to espresso.
6. In the memo field of all your checks, write “For sexual favors”.
7. Finish all your sentences with “In accordance with the prophecy.”
8. Don't use any punctuation.
9. As often as possible, skip rather than walk.
10. Ask people what sex they are. Laugh hysterically after they answer.
Aquarius is a very free-spirited, unpredictable sign, and those born with this sun-sign are often given to a wide range of emotions, and to indecision. Aquarians will often change their mind about certain things, as the mood suits them. While typically intellectual, charming and well behaved, Aquarians will sometimes change their mind regarding important issues, or act in a very self-interested way. For the most part, Aquarians are concerned with the "greater good" and express humanitarian interests – just so long as those interests don't conflict with their own.
Aquarians are extremely friendly, and very well liked. They are always a mystery – with their unpredictable responses and often complex personality types. Aquarians typically love to travel and are always up for adventure.
Now those of you who know me, what is your feeling? Do I in any way, shape or form resemble this definition? Sleep on it til next week and we will see what your feelings are. Until then, rest assured I will sip my French Roast, pet Murphy and contemplate the insanity of wedding planning.
There is no need to thank me for this valuable information: I'm doing it as a public service. Should we meet again -TA!
