Mirror, Mirror on the Wall.....

It is a beautiful day in our neighborhood this morning.  After a rainy day yesterday, the sun is out, it is cool, the wind is blowing, leaves are on the trees, birds are chirping and Kinnick is getting past his allergies.  Yeah!!

Joined the folks at my Silver Sneakers class today at the gym.  I usually attend on Monday and Thursday.  The other three days, I use the weights and equipment to tailor my own regime.  Yes, I have a regime.  Thursday is Toning and Strength day.  Lord knows, I need more toning.  Actually, I have tone but it is covered by the fat.  Our instructor, Babs, is so tolerant of us.  She has these great workout routine laid out for us every day and we tend to under achieve it seems.  I used the term "we" but really should have said "I".  Excuse me.  Babs is somewhat younger than most of us but not that much younger.  She has entirely too much energy for one person.  There really should be a law.  Not only full of energy but knows her exercise stuff.  For instance, did you know that each nostril stimulates the brain differently?  I didn't either.  I have been told that when you plug your right nostril and breathe through the left one, your brain relaxes. Alternatively, closing the left one will give you energy.  Who would have guessed?  Not only physical fitness but mental fitness as well - a total body & soul fitness class.

As I was showering after the workout, I took the time to read my shampoo bottle. I am in shock! The shampoo I use in the shower that runs down my entire body says "for extra volume and body"! Seriously, why have I not noticed this before? Now I understand why I am so "full-figured"!  Tomorrow I am going to start using "Dawn" dish soap. It says right on the label "dissolves fat that is otherwise difficult to remove." It pays to read the warning labels, my friends!

Visited with daughter Debby, the younger elder, last night.  She usually calls after work to see if we are still in this world.  She passed along some news that I thought was a bit distressing.  She related that as we were talking, Barney was on her lap and she was plucking hair tufts from his rear end.  Of course I conjured up a mental image of this event.  My image was not pretty.  I expressed my concern.  She countered with the fact that these were winter hairs and this is a normal occurrence every spring with him.  I asked if she did the same with Max and she replied "no".  Well then, just how "normal" is this?

I ran across a listing of some medical terms and there meanings.  I will share some of these with you since you may have been as unaware of these definitions as I was.
Artery - study of paintings
Bacteria - Back door of a cafeteria
Barium - What doctors do when treatment fails.
Congenital - Friendly
D & C - Where the White House is
Dilate - To live long
Enema - Not a friend.  How true!!!
I will share more of these as time goes on.  Aren't you thrilled?

I am sooo glad to have my computer room all cleaned out.  I have more space and the clutter is down to a minimum.  My current wife, Sue, and I have been discussing what to do with all of the stuff that is in the living room now.  We will have to clean it this weekend I guess.  Any bets that I will have a bunch of stuff in the family room next?  Am I seeing a pattern developing?

We pretty much ignored our house and lawn for a decade before we retired.  We just seemed to get burned out on the whole homeowner business.  We had a lawn service mow the yard, a service that applied fertilizer, and ignored the house altogether.  As we retired, we had the house resided, put a new roof on and have now installed some new windows.  I have a bunch of other things that need to be done but wouldn't you know it,  my $78.00 tax refund is just not going to stretch far enough.  Isn't that the way it goes, first you have the money but not enough time then you have enough time but not enough money.

I found it...
And you thought there was no such place, huhh????

You should be so pleased to receive this........
How many times have we been 'up there' without one!
My work is done.

We can rest easy now knowing that there is a paddle available.  With that said and as I swallow my last gulp of French Roast, enjoy the Memorial Day weekend.  Don't get sunburned like I will.  TA!
