Alive and Well?

Shhhh!  I have to be quiet writing this.  My current wife, Sue, is napping.  I assure you I am alive and well.  This is about the only time I have get on my laptop these days.  You may remember last week she placed a service call to me regarding the inability of her laptop to start windows.  I spent the most part of 4 days trying to figure out what was wrong.  In the end, I gave up and called a friend of mine who is a bonafied hardware technician.  He has had it since Tuesday last.  At the urging of my current wife, I have called him twice to "see how it was going".  So far I have no idea.  Meanwhile, Sue is getting grumpy.  Her world as she knows it is being turned upside down with this latest disruption of her daily routines. Let's keep our fingers crossed that it will be resolved soon.

The weather in Iowa is beginning, emphasis on beginning, to change from that nasty winter stuff to a more tolerable springtime.  Our highs are in the thirties and forties but those seem like heat waves comparatively speaking.

We have increased our workout regime at the gym to include walking/jogging an extra mile after our normal workout.  With my Body Bugg, I know these workouts are burning 600 to 650 calories per day.  This is great except I don't seem to lose any weight.  Do you suppose I am stuffing too much into my mouth?  Nah, I eat like a bird.

Barney got me good the other day.  We were talking, you know like Grandpas and Granddogs do from time to time.  I asked him if he had seen the cartoon of the dog walking out of an "Adult Dog Store".  He indicated that he had not seen that one.  I repeated, "There was this dog walking out of an Adult Dog Store carrying a box with an inflatible leg in it."  I thought it was pretty cute but Barney didn't see the humor in it.  We chatted along for a while between interruptions by Max.  Barney tells me about the time him and Max were in this bar sipping some cool ones.  They both noticed, at about the same time, that they were the only ones with collars.  Suddenly, they realized they were in "stray" bar.  Barney really went nuts with that one.  His tail wagged at 60 mph. and had a big grin on his face.  Max was hooting it up too.  They got one on Grandpa I guess.  I fell for it completely.

We are the proud owners of XM satellite radio in our cars.  The middle of last year, they processed our annual renewal against a debit card.  No warning or anything, just all at once we noticed a huge reduction in our checking balance.  Needless to say we were not happy that there was no warning that they were going to process it.  The reason was we wanted to cancel one of the three that we had on the account.  The only way to cancel is to advise them just prior to renewal.  My problem was that I didn't know when the renewal was.  They offered to switch my services which resulted in a substantial refund.  I have been communicating with them periodically trying to get this promised refund in my hands.  Each time it sounds like it is going to happen but never does.  I have hopes that my latest effort is getting some action.  I have been guaranteed that it will happen, nothing knew, but the gal actually seemed to know what was happening.  Today, low and behold I get a called from an officio verifying the details.  I think it might happen this time.  I was considering taking them to see Judge Judy.

We will be opening the Doggie Fitness Center March 15th with a grand opening celebration.  Sue and I have most of the plans put together, doggie cakes and treats have been ordered, and the final touches have been put on the center.  We are so excited that Barney, Max and Kinnick will have a place to workout and train.  With the pool, Kinnick can practice dock diving year around instead of just the summer months.  We predict he will be able to increase his distance by 30 to 40%.  Likewise, Max will be able to train for Flyball.  He has the speed now but needs to get under control more.  Barney, well he just wants to maintain his stud muffin look.  He is all about image.  Barney will literally love the solar tanning booths.  Can't wait.

Jenny, the elder, is making progress on her house.  She wants to sell it so she can move to Colorado with Kinnick.  Sure is nice to see how much energy young folks have.  I seem to vaguely remember how that felt but I then thought it was just a dream.  This will be a great adventure for her I think.

I got an email from my brother Chris, the bald, yesterday.  The extent of his email was "Where is the Drivel?" No, Hi how's it going or what's up or anything.  I was going to wait until Trash Tuesday but I thought I had better calm him down.  He is 11 years younger than me and I don't want to be responsible for giving him ulcers - So Chris, here is the Drivel. Enjoy!

Yeah to me for getting the stupid income taxes filed.  I e-filed.  That is the only way to go.  Now, just give me my refund.  You've had the use of my money long enough, thank you.  Well, Sue is pacing which means she wants to use the laptop.  That is all of the Drivel for now have a great day.  TA!
