Trashy Tuesday Again

Here we are at Trashy Tuesday again.  Garbage, recyclables, and yard waste are on the curb already at 6:09 am.  I think this is a personal record.  Actually, I took a hint from the neighbors and had the yard waste on the curb yesterday at 2:10 pm.  Having driven up and down our street a number of times, I have noticed that the neighbors apparently are also getting paranoid with this "garbage at the curb by 7:00 am" law.  Most have their yard waste out the day before but I am also noticing recyclables as well as garbage out there also.  I think if enough of us band together and get everything out there the day before, the city will be forced to hire another enforcer and ticket us for putting garbage out TOO EARLY.  These guys in city hall are looking for every revenue stream you know.

I mentioned in my blog yesterday that Kinnick had an ouchie on a pad on his foot.  After a sleepless night full of what if scenarios about the wound, I got up and made an appointment with his vet.  We were able to get in at 11:00 am.  You may already know that Kinnick is a funny dog.  He loves to go for rides as I have related before, so he was ready when I mentioned the R I D E word.  My current wife, Kinnick and I headed to the vet.  The office is on the same street as his day care.  As we approached his day care he got all excited which turned into confusion when we drove by without stopping.  Into the vet parking lot we go and Kinnick is excited again, tail wagging 90 wph (wags per hour), panting and pacing.  He can't wait to get inside.  I thought this is really cool.  Not so quick Grandpa, we get inside and he instantly becomes a basket case.  He is shaking all over and has a pronounced worried, scared look on his face.  Although extremely nervous, he was great with the vet. We were there about 15 minutes and ran up a $115.00 bill before we could sneeze.  Good news it is nothing major at this time.  He has anti-infection pills to take is about all.  Just keep him from licking it and keep him off it.  That really isn't a problem since he sleeps about 90 percent of the time.  I think we can keep him healthy until Jenny, the elder, gets home on Friday.

MacBlu was out in his back yard yesterday raking leaves. Darn him.  Made me realize that I needed to do that also.  I got the rake and the Yardie (city supplied yard waste container).  Kinnick and I raked up enough leaves to fill it.  That satisfied my guilty feelings.  We noticed that MacBlu has re-inherited his 3 Granddogs again.  He wasn't all that thrilled.  When all of the dogs are out, there are 9 dogs at the intersection of three yards. Six females and 3 males.  My observation is the females are a lot more barky than my males. This is shouldn't be news to anyone who has been married more than a couple of years.

Debby, the younger, came over again last night with the "boys" (Barney & Max).  She had a meeting and we were doggie sitting them.  We offered to prepare another meal for her since Sunday nights Papa Murphy's Pizza debacle.  She reluctantly accepted.  We had spaghetti and garlic bread prepared carefully and successfully by my current wife.  We all enjoyed a nice meal although the smell of burnt pizza and paper tray still hung in the air.  I think we have made sufficient amends - fingers crossed.  There is a lingering but unspoken worry about Thanksgiving and the roasting of the Turkey.  Does this oven have a problem? Don't know.  Just keeping my fingers crossed.

Well, the French Roast is all gone and so is the drivel for today's issue.  Thank you for allowing me into your day and I hope I haven't caused any permanent damage.  If I have, it will go away with a cup of coffee.  Hope you have a great day and a better tomorrow.  TA!
