Sunday Already

Gooooooood Mornnning America!!!!  It is great to be alive I have been told. Don’t know personally because this past week has been a blur so I think I’m in a coma. Since my current wife left for Denver, I have been “batching” it.  I think I am supposed to go out and party.  At least it seems like that is what I used to do.

My schedule has not really permitted such activities. It seems my smart, beautiful and conscientious daughters had other plans for me. They had me doing projects all day and tending puppies at night.  Daughter #1 is preparing to relocate temporarily to Denver.  We are doing last minute projects before she leaves. She has rented my services next weekend to drive her possessions to Colorado.  #2 has seen her workload double, so long days and nights have resulted. Both are stressing.

Friday was all mine finally.  Didn’t have a clue as to what to do.  It is really sad.  #1 and I inspected my new gutters on Saturday morning before installing gutter guards on them. We were surprised to learn that these gutters seem to have some type of magnetic properties.  These gutters have been up for a couple of weeks and are full of leaves all ready.  Good gosh!  #1 really did a nice job of installing the guards in record time. Take that you darn leaves.

I bit the bullet and stayed home last night. Didn’t go to the Iowa/Penn St. game.  Daughters #1 and #2, who also go, had a puppy sitting problem since it was a late game.  Yes, all three had a sleep over with Grandpa. Yeah!  They slept through the game except to help me eat popcorn.  I was really disappointed at bed time though.  These animals did not remember their bed assignments. Kinnick was across the bed by the pillows.  He ignored my pleas to move down to the bottom. I
dragged him by his back feet so he was at least vertical.  Barney and Max followed me around the bed refusing to let me lay down. Had to get rough.  Once in bed, Barney retaliated by laying between my legs and Max sat on top of my head. Nice! This lasted until 2:30 – I just couldn’t stand it anymore. My left arm was totally numb. We got up. I got the feeling back 15 minutes later so back to bed.  Better luck, Kinnick at the bottom, Check!, Barney & Max in my armpit fighting over the prime turf.  Barney doesn’t really care. He does it just to tease Max.  Better luck this time and we slept until our usual 5:00 am wake up time.

Laundry is becoming an issue. I have been pondering solutions. Jenny, daughter #1, gave me some instructions using the washer and dryer.  May have to resort to using these machines at some point.  I have sorted my clothing into 4 piles – worn but not soiled – no odor, lightly soiled – faint hint of a smell, soiled but wearable – smells when close, and heavy soil – reeks. This last group will be trashed and replaced at JC Penney’s. The others I think I can re-wear once, twice or maybe three more times until they fall into the last category.  Seems like a reasonable plan.

I’ve gotten adjusted to the Special Roast. The shaky hands have gone away. Looking forward to watch football all day, by myself.  Oh crap, just remembered I have to help winterize #1’s pool. I enjoyed the thought anyway.  Best get my “lightly soiled – faint hint of a smell” clothing and get to work. Have a Great Day and Better Tomorrow. TA!
